Important Information about Balloon and Weather Conditions
Balloons can fly only if weather conditions are safe. The wind must be within permissible limits (less than 10 mph) and the weather conditions must be good. The most favorable conditions occur at early morning and early evening. Balloons, if conditions permit, will only be available for viewing and tethered rides during those times.
All decisions about balloon flights are made by the professional balloon pilots, not by members of the Rotary Club. Since weather conditions can change constantly, final decisions are not made until actual flight times. Up to date information will be provided to festival goers via live announcements, our Facebook page and text alerts.
The Rotary Club of Wakefield strives to make as many balloons available for tethered rides and viewing as possible, while putting the safety of our guests first. This year we have hired a professional balloon company in order to maximize the enjoyment of festival guests.
